Kyokushin Hamai Group carries on the will of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, and its mission is to pass on authentic Kyokushin to the next generation. Basics before competing in strength; training before making a name. Our foremost foundation is to keep training, plainly and steadily.
The practical reality of direct-contact striking, and the martial spirit that begins and ends with courtesy. What Masutatsu Oyama left behind was inherited by Noriyasu Hamai, and has now been handed on to President Mika Hamai.
Noriyasu Hamai (1954–2023) was born in Nanao, Ishikawa. In 1972, while a student at Hitotsubashi University, he joined the Kyokushinkaikan Headquarters. He placed highly at the All Japan Championships, and in 1977, with the approval of Sosai Oyama, became Branch Chief of Ishikawa Prefecture, building the Ishikawa Branch into one of the largest in the prefecture. Having raised a great many fighters, he came to be called "Kyokushin's master trainer." In 2006 he founded the Hamai Group and devoted himself to carrying on authentic Kyokushin. He passed away on December 14, 2023.
Shihan Satoshi Yui (6th dan) has taught at the Kyokushinkaikan Headquarters since 1982 and has a record of international instruction in more than 30 countries. In February 2026 he became Supreme Advisor to the Hamai Group. He currently teaches at Kyokushinkaikan (Rikishakai) Jinshin Dojo in Tachikawa, Tokyo.
